Dubai. November 15th. INTERFAX - The start of production of anti-tank missile systems (ATGMS) "Kornet" in Jordan is scheduled for next year, the head of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev told Interfax.
"It is expected that production will begin in 2022," Mikheev said.
"The contract for the organization of licensed production of the Kornet-E ATGM in Jordan was signed in 2021, but has not yet entered into force," he said.
ATGMS "Kornet" are designed to defeat enemy armored vehicles and aerial targets, including helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. The missile is aimed at the target by a laser beam. The maximum firing range is 5.5 km, the minimum is 100 m.
