The Russian Defense Ministry will receive four new fifth-generation Su-57 fighters by the end of the year. A batch of these combat aircraft will be transferred to the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation in December from the aviation plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to sources in the military-industrial complex.
So far, one serial Su-57 aircraft has been delivered to the troops. The military continues to test it. The defense industry plans to transfer 22 fifth-generation aircraft to the Ministry of Defense in the next three years. By 2028, 76 Su-57 aircraft should already appear in the troops.
Now the "Drying" is being transferred to flight units with engines of the first stage. This is an upgraded version of the engine that is now used in Su-35 aircraft. It allows the Su-57 to develop supersonic speed without the use of afterburner. In addition, it has increased traction, a sophisticated automation system, a fully digital control system, and a new turbine. By 2025, it is planned to launch the production of an upgraded version of the Su-57 with a fundamentally new engine and cabin with advanced avionics.
The engine of the second stage, which now goes under the symbol "type 30", is completely new. According to the developers, many innovations have been introduced in the engine, which in some cases do not have a close analogue in the world. In addition, a two-seat Su-57 is being created to control heavy attack drones S-70 "Hunter". It is assumed that he will lead in the air and give target designation to groups of up to four attack drones.
