The Ukrainian enterprise Meridian named after S. P. Korolev (part of Ukroboronprom) will begin production of combat robots. The manufacturer has signed a cooperation agreement with the Sikorsky Challenge holding and the developers of the Mobile Combat Robots project, the Military portal reports with reference to the Ukroboronprom company.
The project to create combat robots was selected during the startup competition "Sikorsky Challenge-2021". Within the framework of the Mobile Combat Robots project, it is planned to create a family of combat vehicles for logistics, reconnaissance and combat missions. The Ukroboronprom enterprise will provide serial production of robots.
The authors of the project "Mobile combat robots" presented the basic tracked chassis "Raccoon". A machine weighing 65 kilograms can carry 40 kilograms of payload. The declared range of the robotic platform is 600 meters. According to the developers, the duration of the robot's autonomous operation is one and a half hours.
In October, Alexey Bogdanov, Chief Designer of the Android Technology Research and Production Association (NGO), spoke about the advantages of the Russian Marker robot. The machine received a payload module with high rotation speed and positioning accuracy.
In September, the Russian military used the Platform-M robotic systems for the first time. Robots on a tracked chassis were tested at a landfill in the Kaliningrad region.
