The Su-75 Checkmate light tactical fighter will allow implementing new tactical techniques within network-centric operations.
- The aircraft is initially created as a platform for a whole family of airline complexes, including optionally manned and unmanned. This is not just a fashion statement. Already at an early stage of the project, we are laying in Checkmate extensive possibilities for use in network-centric operations. The fighter will be able to exchange information with other aviation complexes and drones, direct them to targets. The use of an unmanned version of the machine will allow implementing new tactical techniques," Yuri Slyusar, head of the United Aircraft Corporation, told TASS.
The technical appearance of Checkmate has been formed, said the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov. In addition to fifth-generation technologies, the advantage of the aircraft is an open architecture with the ability to adapt to the needs of the customer.
- Among the fifth-generation single-engine fighters, only the F-35 can boast similar characteristics. But our plane is more economically profitable," Chemezov noted. Earlier, he said that the cost of the flight hour of the Su-75 will be seven times lower than that of the F-35.
