It is assumed that they will withstand high and low temperatures, vibrations during removal, exposure to vacuum, ionizing radiation
MOSCOW, November 12. /tass/. Roscosmos has signed a contract with JSC Composite (part of the state corporation) to develop the latest materials for new rocket technology, according to the public procurement portal.
"The purpose of the R&D [development work] is to develop new materials for space applications using nanotechnology, with new unique properties, increased parameters of durability, reliability, active life, reduction of weight and dimensional characteristics, technological processes of their manufacture and the creation of products based on them that will withstand the loads of flight conditions," the terms of reference say.
In particular, new materials must withstand high and low temperatures, vibrations during removal, exposure to vacuum, ionizing radiation.
The contract implies the development of a heat-resistant alloy for rocket engines, power elements made of metal composites based on structural metal alloys reinforced with silicon carbide fibers with a functional nanostructured barrier coating for space technology and new rockets.
It is also planned to develop optically transparent adhesives for opto-digital systems and space complexes of a new generation. Another task is to provide enterprises of the rocket and space industry with scarce, low-cost and import-substituting materials and raw materials components.
The contract was signed on November 8. Its cost is more than 1 billion rubles.
