MOSCOW, November 11. /tass/. The additional funds allocated by the government will be used for research of the Moon, astrophysical objects in the ultraviolet and visible ranges and Venus. This was reported to TASS by the press service of Roscosmos on Thursday.

"The decision by the Government of the Russian Federation to allocate additional funds for the development of the space industry will ensure the necessary financing of work in such areas of fundamental space research as lunar exploration, research of astrophysical objects in the ultraviolet and visible ranges of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum, research of Venus," Roscosmos noted.

According to the state corporation, it is also planned to use these funds to finance work within the framework of the Russian-European ExoMars mission, research of objects by the Spektr-RG observatory. Roscosmos, the state corporation stressed, uses the funds in full. Enterprises will receive them in 2021 under existing contracts.

Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin, whose words are quoted in the message, noted that thanks to the allocated funds, Roscosmos will be able to carry out a program of fundamental research. "The adoption of the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on the allocation of additional funds to the state corporation from the reserve fund will allow fulfilling the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, will create the necessary conditions for solving the tasks of the program of fundamental space research at the level of leading space agencies," Rogozin said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, opening a government meeting on Thursday, announced the allocation of an additional 6.5 billion rubles for the development of the domestic space industry.
