Yekaterinburg. November 11. INTERFAX - The troops of the Central Military District (CVO) in October received more than 150 pieces of weapons, special and aviation equipment, including the upgraded MiG-31BM long-range interceptor and a divisional set of the S-300PM2 anti-aircraft missile system, the press service of the CVO reported on Thursday.
"Among the combat vehicles received are the Kasta, Nebo-U radar stations, more than 50 Mustang army trucks, truck tractors and tankers, a divisional set of the S-300PM2 anti-aircraft missile system, as well as an upgraded MiG-31BM interceptor fighter," the district said in a statement.
Modern and modernized samples of military equipment have replenished the fleet of weapons of the military district units in the Samara, Sverdlovsk, Novosibirsk, Tyumen regions, as well as in the Krasnoyarsk and Perm territories, the Central Military District clarified.
"The receipt of ten units of R-419L1M digital radio relay stations made it possible to complete the re-equipment of the Central Military District control brigade stationed in the Sverdlovsk Region with new and modern equipment," the military district added.
The S-300PM2 Favorit anti-aircraft missile systems are a development of the S-300 systems (Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region JSC). Their combat capabilities are higher due to the creation of a new missile that has an increased effectiveness of hitting ballistic targets at ranges up to 40 km with the provision of detonation of the target's warhead, increasing the long-range boundary of the zone of destruction of aerodynamic targets to 200 km, including when shooting after, expanding the information capabilities of the command post of the system for detecting and tracking ballistic targets while maintaining the sector of detection of aerodynamic targets.
The supersonic MiG-31 is designed for long-term patrolling and combating high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft, strategic bombers and low-flying targets. The aircraft is capable of simultaneously hitting six and escorting up to ten aerial targets.
