Terminator tank support combat vehicles (BMPT) in the amount of nine units will be delivered to the 90th Guards Tank Division of the Central Military District from December 1, 2021. This information was announced by the press service of the Central Military District, referring to the commander of the district troops, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin.
He noted that BMPT had already been successfully tested in the above-mentioned compound. Combat vehicles at the research exercises demonstrated high performance: in terms of efficiency and firepower, they have no equal.
"We are now introducing a company of BMPT from nine combat vehicles to the staff by the end of this year, by December 1, by the decision of the Minister of Defense and the instruction of the Chief of the General Staff to one of the tank regiments of the 90th Tank Division.
And in June next year we will conduct more extensive research exercises, we will explore the possibilities of using the BMPT battalion," the Colonel-General added.
They will also study the capabilities of the BMPT company for a motorized rifle regiment.
"I am deeply convinced that this equipment will successfully perform combat missions in combined arms combat and in accordance with modern requirements as the most effective fire means not only to support tanks, but also to solve a wide range of tasks in the mountains and settlements," Lapin said.
