According to the study, Russia, China and the United States have the largest armored vehicle fleets in the world, while most of it falls on armored personnel carriers (APCs). As the main trend in the development of armored personnel carriers, a decrease in the effectiveness of the impact of enemy fire on the gunner is mentioned, as well as equipping this equipment with remote-controlled combat modules in standard configuration.
According to the authors of the study, the most significant modernization process in the field of armored vehicles is the gradual transition from passive armor to active protection complexes (KAZ). KAZ is usually installed on main battle tanks, but there is a potential for equipping them with armored personnel carriers, the report says.
The total volume of the global armored vehicles market in the next ten years will be about $ 250 billion, while its annual growth during this period will be about $ 40 billion, the document says. The Asian regional market will be dominant - it will account for 30% of the total volume due to the increase in defense financing and the development of a number of countries' own programs to create armored vehicles.
