Moscow. November 10th. INTERFAX - The first deliveries of the Tosochka heavy flamethrower system TOS-2 will take place this year, Alexander Smirnov, General Director of NPO Splav, told Interfax.
"We are already, roughly speaking, starting deliveries in any case this year," Smirnov said.
The contract for the manufacture and supply of TOS-2 systems was signed at the Army-2021 forum in August.
According to Smirnov, work on the contract is going on in parallel with the state tests of the system, which are planned to be completed in the coming days.
"(State tests, - "IF") are close to completion, there are small organizational problems - weather conditions. We have technical limitations, the landfills are functioning, but no one has canceled the weather. Therefore, it is literally a matter of days, by the end of this week, all firing tests will be completed, protocols will be issued and that's it," Smirnov said, answering a question about the timing of the completion of state tests.
On June 4, the CEO of Technodinamika Holding announced that state tests are planned to be completed by the end of the year.
TOS-2 "Tosochka" is mounted on the wheeled chassis of the Ural car with increased cross-country capability, has an increased firing range, automated aiming, firing and fire control systems. In addition, the heavy flamethrower is equipped with a crane manipulator and does not need a transport-charging machine.
