Hermeus company held a presentation of a prototype hypersonic business jet Quarterhorse. It is assumed that it will be able to carry from nine to 19 passengers, and it will be able to get from New York to London in 90 minutes.
Yesterday, the American startup Hermeus held a presentation of a prototype hypersonic aircraft Quarterhorse. The company added a twist to the ceremony by starting the engine. During the demonstration, the reusable drone remained stationary, but the company hopes to make its first flight next year.
The capacity of the Quarterhorse will be from nine to 19 passengers. At a speed above M = 5, he will be able to fly from New York to London in 90 minutes. Modern aircraft require seven hours to do this.

Earlier it was reported that Hermeus received a contract worth $ 60 million from the US Air Force and venture capital companies to support the testing of a promising aircraft that can fly at hypersonic speed.

Recall that now the United States is actively developing fundamentally new hypersonic weapons systems. An important stage on this path was the successful tests of the Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept air-based complex.
