KALININGRAD, November 9. /tass/. The corvettes of the Baltic Fleet "Boyky" and "Stoyky" completed their combat training missions in the Baltic Sea and returned to their base in Baltiysk. The campaign lasted more than a month, the ships passed over 6,700 nautical miles, the press service of the fleet reported on Tuesday.
"A detachment of ships of the Baltic Fleet consisting of the corvettes "Stoyky" and "Brisk" completed the tasks of the campaign in the Baltic Sea. The crews of the ships spent more than a month at sea. The campaign of the detachment took place within the framework of the permanent naval presence of ships of the Baltic Fleet in the area of its responsibility. <...> The ships returned from the campaign technically sound and ready to perform tasks according to their intended purpose after replenishing the necessary supplies," the press service said.
The detachment traveled more than 6,700 nautical miles, the crews worked out dozens of shipboard exercises and trainings, carried out a set of measures to replenish fuel and water reserves while drifting and on the move, worked out tasks to search, detect and destroy submarines of a simulated enemy using a complex of anti-submarine weapons and Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters.
The specialists of the missile and artillery combat units of the ships carried out the tasks of launching missile strikes with anti-ship missile complexes "Uran" on a detachment of ships of a conditional enemy with electronic missile launches, worked out the issues of anti-aircraft and anti-sabotage defense of ships. The units of marines stationed on the ships of the detachment worked out various anti-terrorist scenarios and performed small arms fire at sea targets.
A solemn ceremony of welcoming the crews of the detachment took place in the military harbor of Baltiysk. At the pier, the sailors who completed the combat mission were met by the deputy commander of the Baltic Fleet, Rear Admiral Igor Smolyak, representatives of the command and military personnel of the naval formations of the fleet, a military band, relatives and friends of the Baltic sailors. The servicemen who distinguished themselves in the long campaign were awarded valuable gifts from the fleet command, the press service reported.
