The service life of the Irkutsk multipurpose nuclear submarine of the Antey project 949A of the Pacific Fleet after its repair and modernization at the Zvezda Far Eastern plant will last for at least 10 years. This was announced on Tuesday by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during a conference call at the military department.
"The modernization of the cruiser will extend its service life by at least 10 years and expand the combat capabilities of the Pacific Fleet," he said.

During the conference call, problematic issues related to the commissioning of the ship were considered, including the timing of its tests after repair and modernization at the Far Eastern Zvezda plant.
