The Russian military will receive a batch of tank support vehicles (BMPT) "Terminator". The commander of the troops of the Central Military District (CVO), Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, announced the continuation of the pilot operation of the BMPT in 2022. This is reported by Interfax.
During the awarding ceremony of the winners of the district stage of the All-Russian Press Festival "Media-Ac 2021 Center" Lapin noted that the methods of using BPMT were worked out on the basis of the 90th Tank Division. According to him, before the beginning of December, nine "Terminators" will be introduced into the staff of one of the regiments of the division.
"To date, there are no equals to this car in its class in terms of firepower and maneuverability, both in the mountains and in the locality," the commander of the Central Military District noted.
In March, the American magazine The National Interest wrote about the preparation of the "Terminators" for war. The publication commented on the exercises at the training ground near Chelyabinsk. The Russian military practiced the interaction of BMPT and tanks.
In January, the German publication Stern noted the high firepower of the Terminator. The article noted that the armament of the machine determines the effectiveness of BMPT in urban conditions.
The Terminator received two 30-millimeter automatic cannons. The main armament is complemented by a pair of automatic grenade launchers AGS-17 "Flame" and anti-tank guided missiles 9M120-1 "Attack".
