"More than ten aircraft and about 200 military personnel were involved in the training flights," the report says.
According to the military, the pilots of the aircraft in total performed more than 100 approaches to the starting position and rapprochement with the cone sensor of the IL-78 tanker, both singly and as part of a pair.
The refueling of the aircraft was carried out during the day and at night at an altitude of two to six thousand meters in simple and difficult weather conditions, the CVO clarified.
The Su-24MR is a tactical reconnaissance aircraft, part of naval aviation and air defense.
The Su-34 was developed by Sukhoi (part of the United Aircraft Corporation), and has been mass-produced since 2005. Designed to defeat enemy ground and air targets at any time of the day or night under any meteorological conditions. The Su-34 uses long-range air-to-surface and air-to-air guided weapons.
