S-400 air defense systems and Pantsir-S1 complexes have become the most popular Russian weapons among foreign customers in 2021, said Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS).
With the advent of the era of drones and robots, the demand for Russian air defense systems and electronic warfare equipment is increasing, Shugaev said in an interview with RBC. According to him, about ten countries are showing interest in the S-400 air defense system.
Kornet anti-tank complexes, Smerch multiple launch rocket systems and other guided weapons systems are also in serious demand, the director of the FSVTS noted. At least half of Russian arms exports are aviation equipment, he said.
In total, the portfolio of orders for the export of Russian weapons exceeds $ 52 billion, Shugaev said.
