Thematic meetings on defense are held annually in May and November
MOSCOW, November 2. /tass/. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, November 3, will conclude the next series of meetings on defense issues, which is taking place in Sochi. This was reported to TASS by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
"The final one will take place tomorrow," the Kremlin spokesman said when asked about the duration of the current series of such events.
By tradition, the President holds thematic meetings on defense twice a year - in May and November. Prior to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, they were periodically accompanied by visits to defense industry enterprises and facilities. The last series of such meetings took place in May of this year, during three days they discussed, in particular, the main directions of the development of the armed forces for the long term, the implementation of the state defense order, as well as issues of military transport aviation and the topic of high-precision long-range weapons.
