The Indian company Hindustan Aeronautics has suspended participation in the program to create a fifth-generation fighter FGFA (Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft) based on the Russian Su-57. Dmitry Shugaev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS), told RBC about this.
He clarified that the program, launched in 2007, has been frozen until the adoption of the Su-57 by the Russian Armed Forces. At the same time, the publication was informed in Rostec that the VKS will receive "several aircraft" by the end of this year.
During the first stage of the Russian-Indian program, the design of the FGFA fighter was developed. Subsequently, the project stalled due to disagreements between the parties.
On November 1, it was reported that the production of Russian fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft will be accelerated with the help of augmented reality. The main award of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) competition was awarded to the project of optimizing the production of aircraft parts. The project was developed by specialists of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant (KnAAZ) named after Yuri Gagarin. According to the plant's leading programmer Valery Timokhin, augmented reality technologies will allow you to superimpose a digital model of the unit on a real object. This will help to increase the quality and speed of technological operations.
Earlier, the Su-57 was compared with American fifth-generation aircraft. Expert Alexey Leonkov noted that the Su-57 is ahead of the F-22 and F-35 competitors in terms of weapons systems and rates of robotization. Also, the radar station and electronic warfare systems of the Russian machine are better than the solutions that are used in the United States. According to the expert, the advantages of the Su-57 include the "co-pilot" system, which facilitates piloting and conducting combat for the pilot of the aircraft.
