Sochi. November 1st. INTERFAX - The Russian Armed Forces have received 25 S-400 air defense systems and more than 70 new fighter jets in recent years, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Within the framework of the state armament program, 25 S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems and over 70 modern fighters have been delivered over the past four years," Putin said.
According to him, in addition, more than 20 S-300 complexes and 90 aircraft have been upgraded.
"As a result, the effectiveness of covering the most important military and industrial infrastructure has significantly increased," the President stressed.
He said that at the turn of 2025-2027, it is necessary to increase the share of modern weapons to at least 80%.
"In the coming years, more than 200 lethal vehicles, 26 S-350 and S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems will be additionally supplied to the troops. And also the first serial sample or the first serial samples of the latest S-500 anti-aircraft system," Putin said.
He noted that in recent years, the capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces in the field of aerospace defense have increased markedly.
"So, the missile attack warning system works clearly and effectively. Both of its components - the orbital grouping of satellites and ground-based radars - are guaranteed to detect ballistic missile launches, determine their parameters in a timely manner and notify the combat control centers of the troops," Putin said.
