A group of Russian specialists has developed a small-sized radar station "Volna" to search for drones (UAVs). The new device will allow detecting inconspicuous and stationary targets. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The publication notes that multicopters, which can hover over a protected object, pose a great danger to protected objects. This makes the target invisible to most radars. Helicopter-type drones are also capable of carrying reconnaissance equipment.
The station is based on a multipath antenna system that allows you to detect stationary targets. The "wave" can detect an approaching drone at any time of the day at a distance of up to five kilometers. Moreover, the system allows you to capture inconspicuous targets with an effective scattering area of 0.01 square meters at a distance of one kilometer.
The new station is able to determine the main parameters of the target and transmit data about the drone to the operator's console. Also, the "Wave" can transmit the coordinates of targets to the means of suppressing drones.
Earlier, Kaspersky Lab presented a complex for searching for Antidrone drones. The system recognizes targets using a neural network that allows you to determine the model of the device and the location of the drone operator.
In August, the Almaz-Antey concern presented the Gyrfalcon drone. The device received a shotgun for the destruction of small unmanned vehicles.
