The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced a competition for the disposal of aviation ammunition. The agency plans to dispose of 187 guided missiles of the Navy. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the data of the public procurement portal.
The initial price of the contract is 3.1 million rubles. The agreement provides for the disposal of 145 R-60 short-range guided missiles and 42 X-25 air-to-surface missiles by November 10, 2023. The agency plans to summarize the results of the competition on December 3.
The R-60 air-to-air missile was adopted in 1973. The ammunition was used as part of the armament of most Soviet fighters, Su-24 bombers, Su-25T attack aircraft and Yak-38 carrier-based aircraft.
The X-25 guided missile is designed to defeat small-sized ground and surface targets. The ammunition entered service in 1976. The missile received a high-explosive fragmentation warhead.
In September, RIA Novosti, citing sources, reported on the first delivery of X-59MKM aviation missiles to a foreign customer. The ammunition is designed to destroy fortified structures.
In August, Alexander Kochkin, executive director of the Techmash Research and production concern, told TASS about expanding the arsenal of the Mi-28N Night Hunter helicopter. According to him, the Mi-28N will be able to use unguided S-13B missiles.
