The Samara Rocket and Space Center (RCC) "Progress" has assembled the body of the Aist-2T satellite, which will have to create a 3D model of the Earth. This was announced on October 29 by the general director of the company Dmitry Baranov.
It is noted that two identical devices "Aist-2T" will work on modeling.
"Now the documentation has been fully released, we already have a case for the first number, we will also do the second one by the end of the year," TASS quotes Baranov as saying.
He added that all the components for the devices have been purchased. The satellite is scheduled to be launched in 2023.
In 2019, Roscosmos won a competition to create a space complex for remote sensing of the Earth "Stork", which includes two small spacecraft "Stork-2T". The tasks of the satellites include obtaining panchromatic, overlapping stereoscopic images and color images of the Earth's surface, as well as delivering the received information via radio channel to ground reception points.
The project is carried out within the framework of the state program "Space Activity of Russia".
