OMZ-Specialstal, a member of the OMZ Group, has signed a number of contracts with AEM-Technologies for the supply of rolled sheets made of corrosion-resistant chromium-nickel steel for the manufacture of equipment for the reactor hall of the Indian Kudankulam NPP, the Chinese Tianwan and Xudapu NPP. The total weight of the rental will be more than 745 tons.
Sheets with a thickness of 30 to 120 mm will be made of 08X18N10T-U grade steel. This metal is used for the manufacture of welded assemblies and devices operated in aggressive environments. Steel of this brand has high corrosion resistance, including in alkaline and acidic environments. It is capable of withstanding the effects of high temperature (up to 800 degrees Celsius) without losing its original characteristics, and is easily machined.
The steel produced by OMZ-Spetsstal will be used in the manufacture of hydraulic capacities of the emergency core cooling system (CAO), an internal shaft, and parts of protective pipe blocks. The metal will be shipped to the customer in batches - from January to August 2022.
