According to the head of Roscosmos, the finish line is ahead from the point of view of the station's operation
DUBAI, October 26. /tass/. The head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin does not believe that the International Space Station (ISS) will last until 2030.
"Today we are on the threshold of very important events: we understand that the finish line is ahead from the point of view of the ISS <...> Americans today talked about 2030 (the duration of the station's operation - approx. TASS), which is hard to believe," he said at a briefing on Tuesday.
Rogozin noted that at the 72nd International Astronautical Congress in Dubai, there was a lot of talk among specialists about the creation of a new station.
"There is also a lot of fuss and talk around this: what will this station be like, what will be the components," the head of Roscosmos explained.
The 72nd International Astronautical Congress is being held at the Dubai World Trade Center from October 25 to 29 under the auspices of the International Federation of Astronautics. The event is attended by heads of space agencies from different countries, representatives of the space industry, equipment manufacturers and scientists specializing in space-related issues. Experts will present their achievements and discuss plans for future space exploration missions.
