At the Blue Flag-2021 exercises taking place in the Negev Desert, Israeli Air Force pilots are practicing actions to overcome Russian air defense systems in service with the Syrian army.
The maneuvers also involve equipment and military personnel from the United States, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, France, India and Greece. In total, there are about 100 aircraft and more than 1,000 thousand military personnel.
The exercises began with a solemn flyby of Jerusalem by German and Israeli planes. At the head of the consolidated aerobatic team, the F-15 fighter was controlled by the commander of the Israeli Air Force, Amikam Norkin, and at the helm of the Eurofighter aircraft was the commander of the German Air Force, Ingo Gerhartz.
According to Janes, the anti-aircraft missile systems S-75, S-125, Kub, Osa and Pantsir-S1 were modeled using the new Scorpius-T electronic warfare simulator.
The "red Forces" that play the role of the enemy include the Patriot air defense battery, as well as F-16 fighters from the 115th Squadron of the Red Dragon Air Force and F-35I Adir fighters,"the publication reports.
