The Russian heavy attack drone "Hunter", which is the wingman of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter, poses a "big problem" for NATO and, in particular, the United States. This is told by the American publication 19FortyFive.
The publication notes that the drone, which is one of the most modern and largest in the world, can fly at speeds up to 1000 kilometers per hour. Made according to the "flying wing" aerodynamic scheme, the device has a mass of about 20 tons, which makes it heavier than some fighters.
It is noted that the Hunter has received some artificial intelligence capabilities that provide autonomous maneuvering and targeting capabilities, which is especially useful if the enemy uses electronic warfare. The publication claims that the Su-57 wingman is capable of striking at a range of up to 6000 kilometers and can carry up to two tons of bomb load.
According to 19FortyFive, if the claimed characteristics and capabilities of the "Hunter" correspond to reality, the led Su-57 will become a "real beast".
In October, The Drive edition was surprised that in terms of its size, the wingman — a heavy attack drone "Hunter" — is only slightly inferior to the leading one — the Russian fifth-generation fighter Su-57.
