The new SSP-200 ship-lifting pontoon has been transferred to the forces and means of the search and rescue service of the Navy. This was announced by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The pontoon, manufactured by the Moscow-based enterprise JSC "CAMPO" in the Moscow-based Orekhovo-Zuyevo by order of the Main Command of the Navy, will be located in the Black Sea Fleet.
This is a specialized technical means that is equipped with flooding and purging systems, and in addition, fixing devices to a sunken or transported object.
The main function of the SSP-200 pontoon is to lift sunken vessels, keep them afloat and provide stability during lifting, as well as to reduce the draft in case of wiring in shallow water.
Earlier, on October 18, it was reported that the Russian Black Sea Fleet used more than 40 ships during military exercises with the forces of the Southern Military District at the Opuk training ground in Crimea. During the maneuvers, the Black Sea Fleet troops worked out practical actions for the anti-sabotage defense of a section of the coast, as well as to combat naval assault groups and naval landing forces, the report says.
Prior to that, on October 13, the Russian Ministry of Defense conducted experimental exercises in the Black Sea. As sources told Izvestia, the maneuvers ended last week. During the experiment, the capabilities of ships equipped with the Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile and artillery complex to repel massive air strikes were evaluated.
