The preparation of astronauts for landing on the Moon was shown in Russia. The corresponding video was published on the YouTube channel of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, RIA Novosti reports.
The video demonstrates an imitation of the main actions on the surface of the Moon. Low gravity was created by the simulator "Exit-2". Cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin worked out the exit from the lander, movement along the natural satellite of the Earth and working with the instrument in low gravity conditions.
Earlier it was reported that the state corporation "Roscosmos" announced a competition for work on sending a man to the moon. According to the materials of public procurement, the cost of the work was estimated at 1.7 billion rubles.
In May, an unnamed source told RIA Novosti the possible launch date of the Russian Luna-25 mission. According to him, the automatic interplanetary station will be launched on May 25.
In January, the Space Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) recommended that Roscosmos use the Angara heavy carrier for flights to the Moon instead of the Yenisei rocket. The initiative involves the use of a multi-start scheme.
