The crew arrived at the oceanographic research vessel "Evgeny Goriglejan", built at the Baltic shipyard "Yantar".
The OIS of the project 02670 "Evgeny Goriglejan" was built on the basis of the former rescue tugboat MB-305, the press service of the plant told the Military-Industrial Courier. The project was developed at the Almaz Central Design Bureau.
The work was started on March 19, 2016, the Day of the Russian Submarine Forces. The vessel is named in honor of the general designer of nuclear submarines of special purpose in the Central Design Bureau of MT "Rubin" Evgeny Goriglejan (1934-2014).
Currently, the personnel has been settled at the OIS "Evgeny Goriglejan". According to Dmitry Leonov, the responsible deliverer of the order, the tasks of preparing the vessel for sea trials are being worked out. "After the crew is settled, a number of issues usually arise that were not provided for by the designer," Leonov explained. – There are minor flaws that we are currently eliminating. This mainly concerns housing and living conditions."
In October, it is planned to complete the work on preparing the vessel for sea trials, which should begin in mid-November.
