On October 21, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu went to a new military town, which was built in less than a year in one of the Moscow districts. There are two departmental centers located there - the 27th Scientific and the Aviation Safety Center of the Armed Forces.
The Minister, in particular, was shown how the new system of data exchange on the situation in the air works. It is able to quickly bring information about aviation accidents to users and provide information necessary for making decisions on problematic situations in the sky. A database of aviation events was uploaded to this system, as well as a large number of analytical and preventive materials on the safety of state aviation flights issued since 2000. Due to this, the printed materials have become available in the format of electronic documents.
The new system may soon receive the status of an interdepartmental one. The issue of connecting flight safety agencies of other federal ministries and departments to it is already being resolved. In addition, the Department of the Armed Forces for Regulating the Activities of the State Aviation of Belarus is preparing to become a user of this system. The corresponding decision was made at a recent joint board of the Ministries of Defense of Russia and Belarus.
In addition to the hardware and software control center, the Center building houses laboratory facilities and gyms.
