"Artillery fire destroyed the naval landing of a conditional enemy on the island of Chechnya. When firing at naval targets, the servicemen carried out a set of electronic warfare measures against setting false targets. Elements of naval maneuvers to evade missile strikes of a conditional enemy were also worked out," the report says.
In addition, the sailors of the Caspian Flotilla carried out the setting of a false goal and worked out a number of elements of training. "The crews have worked out elements of naval training, tasks for mine protection of the ship, as well as for the protection and defense of the ship when parked on an unprotected roadstead," the Southern Military District added.
In total, more than 20 warships and support vessels of the CFl are involved in the exercises, including the Dagestan missile ship, the small missile ships Uglich and Veliky Ustyug, Grad Sviyazhsk, small artillery ships, base and raid minesweepers, the anti-sabotage boat P-351 of the Grachonok project, as well as sea tugs and vessels of the hydrographic service of the flotilla.
The command and staff exercises began on October 13 at the training grounds of the Southern Military District. The event is also attended by units of military bases of the Southern Military District stationed in Abkhazia, Armenia, South Ossetia, part of the forces of the Black Sea Fleet, the Caspian Flotilla, which will work out practical actions in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas.
In total, about 8 thousand people, up to 350 units of weapons and military equipment from the combined arms armies, air Force and air defense associations, formations and units of the armed forces and special forces of the district subordination are involved in the exercises with the associations and formations of the Southern Military District. One of the tasks of the exercises is to check the readiness of troops in the south-western strategic direction.
