India may equip its border guards with non-lethal weapons of a new type to confront Chinese military personnel. This is reported by Asian News International.
It is noted that such weapons can be used during clashes in the Galvan Valley, located in the border region of Ladakh.
According to the publication, Apasteron has introduced five types of weapons, some of which may seem unusual. So, for example, a trident is a stun gun and a club with spikes that can be used against equipment.
Among other novelties, it is also worth paying attention to electric gloves, a stick with a stun gun, as well as a shield. The latter is capable of blinding the enemy with powerful LEDs and electrocuting him.
In May last year, the two countries were already on the verge of the most serious clash in half a century. In the Ladakh Valley, border guards armed with sticks and stones came together hand-to-hand. About 500 people from both sides participated in the fight, several dozen died. According to tradition, the parties laid responsibility for what happened on each other.
In June 2020, the PRC opened fire on the Indian military, saying that they had illegally crossed the state border. As a result of the shelling, three people died, 17 more died of their wounds later. The Chinese side blamed India for the incident.
China and India came to an agreement on compliance with the agreement to avoid any actions that could aggravate the situation around the border conflict on September 10, 2020.
In February 2021, the Chinese and Indian military began withdrawing troops from the joint border in the area of Lake Pangong-Tso.
