Washington. October 19. INTERFAX - The first manned test flight of the CST-100 Starliner Boeing Crew Flight Test (CFT) spacecraft to the International Space Station may take place at the end of 2022, said John Vollmer, head of the Boeing Corporation Commercial manned flight program.
"We are planning to launch OFT-2 in the first half of 2022 and are considering the launch date of CFT for maybe the end of the year," Vollmer said.
"Our main task is to make sure of the successful launch of OFT-2, then we will think about the launch date of CFT. We would like to achieve a time interval of six months between flights," he added.
Before carrying out the first manned flight on the CST-100 Starliner to the ISS, Boeing must conduct two test unpiloted launches to the ISS. If successful, the corporation will have the right to send a crew to the ISS.
