The introduction of self-driving cars will radically revise the economy of transportation and reduce the cost of travel. This was stated by Tatiana Mikheeva, Head of the Research Department of Integrated Transport Development of JSC NIIAT, in an interview with Vestnik GLONASS magazine.
According to the expert, there is a possibility that in addition to cheaper transportation, safety will also increase due to the exclusion of the human factor. In addition, the speed of movement will increase, as traffic congestion and traffic accidents will practically disappear.
However, there is still a cybersecurity problem, since any system can always be hacked.
She gave an example that for some time there was a problem of using fake accounts in carsharing, users did not want to pay for the service and bought accounts for themselves to drive for free. Now this problem has been solved. But it is obvious that attackers will always find a way to harm the system.
