The Russian Black Sea Fleet used more than 40 ships during military exercises with the forces of the Southern Military District at the Opuk training ground in Crimea. This was reported on October 18 in the Ministry of Defense.
During the maneuvers, the Black Sea Fleet troops worked out practical actions for the anti-sabotage defense of a section of the coast, as well as to combat naval assault groups and amphibious forces, the report says.
"According to the legend of the exercises, fire support ships consisting of the cruiser "Moscow", the frigate "Admiral Grigorovich", the small rocket ship "Ingushetia", the missile ships "Naberezhnye Chelny" and R-60 suppressed the coastal defense with unguided rockets and naval artillery, after which they carried out the ejection of naval assault groups from high-speed boats and boats," the military said.
Actions were practiced to suppress anti-airborne defense with the execution of air strikes on the positions of the "enemy".
The command and staff exercises began on October 13 at the training grounds of the Southern Military District. The event is attended by units of military bases of the Southern Military District stationed in Abkhazia, Armenia, South Ossetia, part of the forces of the Black Sea Fleet, the Caspian Flotilla, which will work out practical actions in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas. The exercises are being held as part of a control check of the district's troops for the 2021 academic year under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District, Army General Alexander Dvornikov.
