Soldiers and officers of the country's combat army reserve called up for field training have mastered the use of UAZ-Patriot rocket-machine-gun car pickups. Retraining classes were held at nine training grounds of the Southern Military District.
"Autonomous APL-500 tent camps with leisure rooms, showers, canteens and bath and laundry services have been deployed to accommodate reservists in the field. The places for living are equipped with televisions, heaters and equipped with the necessary equipment," the press service of the Southern Federal District reported.
Since September 22, about 20 thousand people have improved their combat skills. They received the necessary training for the protection and defense of particularly important state and military facilities.
In particular, the BARS reservists were trained to operate UAZ off-road vehicles with rocket-machine-gun armament. This technique entered service in 2015.
Cars with a 4x4 wheel formula received a 2.7-liter engine and have a load capacity of up to one ton. The vehicles are equipped with a large-caliber 12.7-millimeter machine gun "Cord" and a 30-millimeter automatic grenade launcher "Flame" or ATGM. If necessary, they can carry heavier weapons, including a 120-millimeter mortar and ammunition.
