The product thrown on the coast of the White Sea in Severodvinsk (Arkhangelsk region) turned out to be a Russian simulator of hydroacoustic counteraction "Beryllium", writes the Telegram channel "Military Informant".
It is noted that the "product 2547" is a means of electronic warfare (EW) designed for underwater work. "The product weighing 1.5 tons and about 8 meters long was found on the embankment of Zryachev in Severodvinsk," the channel writes.
The Beryllium self-propelled multipurpose automated hydroacoustic counteraction device operates in suppression and trap mode. In the first case, it is used to suppress hydroacoustic means of anti-submarine forces and torpedo guidance systems. In the second — to divert anti-submarine forces to false directions, divert homing torpedoes from submarines and evade sonar buoys. The product has a diameter of 534 millimeters and fires from torpedo tubes of submarines.
