Moscow. October 15th. INTERFAX - Participants of the World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems - ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) World Congress, held in Hamburg (Germany), got acquainted with Russia's unique experience in ensuring transport security, the press service of GLONASS JSC reports.
"Yuri Grin, Advisor to the General Director of GLONASS JSC, informed the congress participants about advanced navigation and information technologies and services developed by GLONASS JSC," the message said on Friday.
According to the press service, in the speaker's speech to the congress participants, it was noted that projects are currently being implemented for commercial and government organizations to monitor transport and cargo, including transit control, compliance with temperature conditions during transportation of perishable products. Some projects use the automated monitoring system "ASM ERA", created on the basis of the infrastructure of the ERA-GLONASS traffic police.
"Since September 1 of this year, the ERA-GLONASS system has been collecting, processing and transmitting to Rostransnadzor data on the movement of passenger transport and carriers of dangerous goods throughout the Russian Federation. Within the framework of this project, it is planned to connect more than 700 thousand vehicles to ERA-GLONASS. In the future, the capabilities of the system are supposed to be extended to small aircraft, water transport, and subsequently used in organizing the movement of highly automated and connected cars," the press release says.
Yuri Grin also said that JSC GLONASS is developing high-precision positioning technology (Precise Point Positioning). This solution will allow to achieve accuracy of navigation definitions up to 10 cm in any point of the Eurasian and Arctic regions without local infrastructure. With the help of high-precision positioning, it will be possible to solve a whole range of tasks in the field of cartographic, geological exploration, marine geology, unmanned aerial vehicles.
"The Congress participants also got acquainted with other advanced navigation and information technologies developed by GLONASS JSC. In particular, we learned about the prospects for the development of the company's ecosystem to create a modern transport infrastructure," the press service informs.
