Dmitry Rogozin, head of the Roscosmos State Corporation, considered the work of the Fregat upper stage of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle and the launch complex of the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur Region to be excellent. He expressed this opinion in an interview with journalists on Thursday, October 14, at the Vostochny cosmodrome.
"Frigate" works great, there are not the slightest comments on it. Well, the launch vehicle, the launch complex — in principle, there are no comments. I sometimes get tense when there are no comments. Usually there should be comments, because something needs to be eliminated," Rogozin shared.
Earlier on October 14, the Soyuz-2.1b rocket with 36 OneWeb satellites launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome. This is the last launch from the Eastern rocket using kerosene as fuel. The next rockets will be refueled with naphthyl. At Plesetsk, Baikonur and Kura, naphthyl is used for refueling only the upper stages of the Soyuz-2.1b, Soyuz-STB and Soyuz-2.1v rockets.
The Soyuz-2.1b launch was the 17th launch of Russian space rockets in 2021.
OneWeb devices are designed to create a space communication system that provides high-speed Internet access anywhere on Earth.
On September 21, Dmitry Rogozin announced that about 15 launches of space rockets from different cosmodromes are planned to be carried out by the end of 2021. In particular, the Berth node module, the Progress MS-18 cargo ship will be launched, and three launches of rockets with OneWeb satellites will also take place.
