Su-57 fighters will start entering the Russian Armed Forces by the end of this year, Rostec reported. On the air of Sputnik radio, military expert Yuri Knutov commented on this news.
The Russian Armed Forces will receive several serial fifth-generation Su-57 fighters by the end of this year, more than 70 aircraft will be delivered by 2027, Rostec told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the American edition of The National Interest published an article claiming that the Su-57 is unlikely to enter service until 2027.
"More than 70 aircraft will be delivered by 2027, including several this year," Rostec said in this regard.
The state corporation expressed the opinion that Russian fifth-generation aircraft do not give rest to the West, and it is for this reason that they regularly become the target of information stuffing.
On the air of Sputnik radio, military expert, director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces (Air Defense) Yuri Knutov noted that the Su-57 is in many ways superior to foreign analogues.
The shape of the airframe, the materials of construction and coatings of the Su-57 make it inconspicuous in all wave ranges, he continued.
The speed characteristics of the SU-57, Yuri Knutov added, will be higher, and the weapons will be more powerful and more modern than those of foreign fifth-generation aircraft.
