Command and staff exercises (KShU) with the involvement of about 8 thousand military personnel will start at the training grounds of the Southern Military District (SE), the press service of the district reports. One of the tasks of the exercise will be to check the readiness of troops in the South-Western strategic direction.
The event will also be attended by the forces of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla, which will work out tasks in the waters of both seas. "A large-scale command and staff exercise is being conducted in the troops of the Southern Military District under the leadership of the commander of the army, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov <...> Units of the military bases of the Southern Military District stationed in Abkhazia, Armenia, South Ossetia, as well as part of the forces of the Black Sea Fleet, the Caspian Flotilla, which will work out practical actions in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas, will also take part in the KSHU," the message says.
In addition, as part of the exercises, the commanders will gain experience in managing troops during combat training. "Within the framework of the KSHU, individual military units and units of the Southern Military District will work out practical actions at training grounds during bilateral regimental and battalion tactical exercises," the Southern Military District reported.
In total, it is planned to involve up to 350 units of weapons and military equipment from the combined arms armies, air Force and air defense associations, formations and units of the armed forces and special forces of the district subordination to participate in the KSHU with associations and formations of the Southern Military District.
