The frigates of the Black Sea Fleet of Project 11356 "Admiral Grigorovich" and "Admiral Essen", equipped with the Kalibr-NK missile system, are preparing to perform combat service tasks as part of the permanent task force of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean. In 2020, the Admiral Makarov was part of the permanent grouping of the Navy in the Mediterranean Sea together with the frigate Admiral Grigorovich. "Admiral Grigorovich" and "Admiral Essen" are the lead and first serial frigates of Project 11356, respectively. The ships are armed with Kalibr-NK cruise missiles.
