MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. The altitude of the Mi-171A2 helicopter in mountainous terrain will be increased to 5 thousand meters, tests of the improved machine are scheduled for 2022. This was reported to TASS by Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.
"Rostec is currently working to expand the characteristics of the Mi-171A2 helicopter in terms of the possibility of taking off, landing and transporting passengers in mountainous terrain at altitudes up to 5,000 meters above sea level," Artyakov said.
According to him, a set of individual oxygen equipment will be installed for each passenger and flight attendant. "Testing with the subsequent approval by the Federal Air Transport Agency of the main change to the helicopter certificate is scheduled for 2022, after which the validation procedure for this option will be carried out in the aviation authorities of India and other countries," the first Deputy Director General stressed.
The Mi-171A2 is the newest representative of the Mi-8/17 family of helicopters. The machine is equipped with an integrated digital flight and navigation complex of on-board equipment KBO-17, which allows you to operate the machine without the presence of an engineer in the crew. The Mi-171A2 can be effectively used in conditions of high altitude, high temperatures and high humidity. On-board flight and navigation equipment allows you to successfully operate the helicopter day and night, in simple and difficult weather conditions, as well as over water. The machine is also capable of making long non-stop flights.
