Pentagon employee Jonathan Toeby, who tried to sell information about American nuclear submarines, passed secret data to a fake foreign agent in sandwiches. This became known on Monday, October 11.
An employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), who introduced himself to engineer Jonathan Toeby as a foreign agent, found a blue memory card wrapped in plastic and placed between two slices of bread in peanut butter sandwiches. This was reported in the Daily Mail with reference to court documents.
The carrier contained information about the design elements and performance characteristics of the reactors of the Virginia-class submarines.
"I hope your experts are very pleased with the sample provided, and I understand the importance of a small exchange to increase our trust," the message contained on this device said.
On October 10, the United States authorities accused Jonathan Toeby and his wife Diana of passing classified information to another State. The couple faces life imprisonment.
