"The fire was directed at target missiles launched from small missile and small anti-submarine ships. During the exercise, 10 missile launches were carried out," the report says.
The cruise missile target "Malachite" was launched by the small rocket ship "Razliv". The calculations of the Varyag air defense discovered her, took her to escort and destroyed the FORT air defense system with anti-aircraft missiles at a safe distance for the ship.
SAMAN target missiles launched from the small anti-submarine ships Metel and RIME were also used as air targets. Their "Varyag" and "Admiral Tributs" were hit with the help of the "WASP" and "Dagger" air defense systems, as well as naval artillery.
Planned air defense exercises were held in the Sea of Japan as part of the final inspection for the summer training period.
