London. October 10th. INTERFAX - Iranian specialists now have at their disposal more than 120 kg of uranium enriched to a level of 20%, said Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
"We have exceeded the 120 kg mark," Western media quoted him as saying on Sunday.
Eslami explained that the country needs such uranium to maintain the operation of the research reactor in Tehran. "Our people know perfectly well that they (Western countries - IF) had to provide us with fuel enriched to 20%. However, they did not do it," he said.
The reports note that in August 2021, Iran's reserves of 20% enriched uranium were estimated at 84.3 kg.
