The cause of the crash of the L-410 aircraft in Tatarstan, according to preliminary data, was a technical malfunction. This was reported on Sunday, October 10, in DOSAAF of Russia.
"According to preliminary information, there was a technical breakdown. The crew took all measures to save the passengers," DOSAAF clarified in an interview with TASS.
It is noted that the aircraft was under the control of experienced pilots.
The L-410 light-engine plane crashed earlier in the day 6 km from the city of Menzelinsk immediately after takeoff. The plane belonged to the Menzelinsky Aero Club, there were parachutists in it. There was smoke at the crash site.
16 people were killed. According to doctors, the victims are in serious condition.
The head of the Menzelinsky municipal district, Aidar Salakhov, on the same day denied the version that the cause of the crash of the L-410 in Tatarstan was the overload of the aircraft. As representatives of the aero club told, a bird could get into the engine.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, which caused the death of two or more persons by negligence").
The aircraft was released in April 1987 and was operated by the Soviet Air Force. The plane got into DOSAAF in 1997. As indicated in Rostransnadzor, the plane was not registered in the state register. The acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Chupriyan, flew to Naberezhnye Chelny with a group of rescuers from the central office to coordinate assistance to the victims.
