Moscow. October 9th. INTERFAX - A cryogenic production site will be upgraded at the site of the Test and Refueling Complex of the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant (kRasmash) in the village of Podgorny, according to ROSCOSMOS, which includes the enterprise.
"The project provides for the modification of two existing plants for obtaining nitrogen and medical oxygen, the construction of a third, as well as two storage facilities: with a capacity of 2 thousand tons for nitrogen and 360 tons for oxygen," the message posted on the state corporation's website said on Saturday.
As Alexander Gavrilov, CEO of KRASMASH, explained, "such a need arose during the third wave of the pandemic, when the plant had a huge responsibility to provide medical oxygen to hospitals and hospitals not only in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, but also in neighboring regions," the report said.
According to Gavrilov, "thanks to the supply of Krasmashevsky oxygen, many lives were saved, and it is terrible to imagine the consequences if the enterprise did not have sufficient capacities, which amount to 1 thousand 800 tons per month."
"Nevertheless, we must be prepared for any development of the situation, because no one knows how long the pandemic will last, and when medical institutions will need our help again. Moreover, the nitrogen needs of the Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems company (part of ROSCOSMOS) are growing, which is needed by the partner company for testing of manufactured products. Thus, the decision to modernize cryogenic production is fully justified," said Gavrilov, whose words are given in the message.
ROSCOSMOS recalled that kRasmash has been producing cryogenic products since 1962, its high quality is determined by the requirements for the production of rocket and space technology. Since 2016, the plant has an indefinite license of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation for the production of liquid medical oxygen as a medicinal product.
"In 2020-2021, in order to combat coronavirus infection, the company significantly increased the volume of products due to the commissioning of the second cryogenic air separation unit KJ-2. Currently, the plant operates around the clock and supplies 60 tons of medical oxygen daily to institutions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk Region and the Republic of Khakassia," the report says.
In accordance with the requirements of the federal law "On the Circulation of Medicines", liquid medical oxygen produced by KRASMASH is included in the State Register of Medicines of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, which guarantees its quality and safety for consumers, informs ROSCOSMOS.
