VLADIVOSTOK, October 8. /TASS/. Bilateral exercises with the participation of more than 2 thousand servicemen of the Eastern Military District began in Primorye, involving 400 units of combat and special equipment, the press service of the district reported on Friday.
"In the combined arms association of the Eastern Military District, stationed in the Primorsky Territory, a bilateral command and staff exercise has begun with the involvement of forces and means of motorized rifle formations. In total, about 2 thousand servicemen and 400 units of combat and special equipment will take part in the exercise," the report says.
As part of the exercises, the military will have to work out the procedure for alarm actions, make a multi-kilometer march to a given area and improve their skills in the possession of standard equipment and weapons. The work of the headquarters will consist in operational decision-making in a complex tactical situation and the management of units during maneuver training and combat operations.
In the practical part of the exercises, motorized rifle and tank units will practice conducting maneuverable defense in the conditions of the use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups, precision weapons, electronic warfare, remote mining by a conditional enemy.
