Tankers of the Western Military District (ZVO) during the exercises near Moscow worked out the destruction of enemy armored vehicles. This was announced on Friday, October 8, by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the scenario of the military exercises, the tankers had to break through the fortified defenses, hitting armored vehicles and mobile anti-tank calculations of the conditional enemy.
The crews of T-72BZ tanks were involved in military training events, which destroyed "enemy equipment" and long-term firing points of the "enemy" with fire from 125-millimeter cannons. In the process of destroying the remaining force, large-caliber NSVT machine guns and 7.62 mm PKT machine guns were involved.
Additionally, the military worked out the issues of fire ambushes together with calculations of complexes with unmanned aerial vehicles "Orlan-10".
Military personnel of the Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the Guards Tank Army of the ZVO were involved in the military exercises. The events were held as part of a control check for the summer training period on the territory of the Alabino training ground.
The exercises were carried out with the involvement of more than 400 military personnel and approximately 100 units of weapons, military and special motorized rifle equipment of the ZVO.
On the eve of October 7, Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu announced the formation of motorized rifle and anti-aircraft missile regiments as a response to threats to national security. Thus, 35 events will be held on the territory of the Eastern Military District this year, the main part of which will be aimed at the implementation of the defense initiative.
